Not that it really has anything to do with a cappella, but I think it really sucks that it's gorgeous in the midwest today... and I am sick. Chords hurt, deep cough that aches in my gut, nasty gunk in my throat. Blech.
I had the "it's really over" talk last night with my ex (LTT- long-term tenor). He's heading off to graduate school in the fall, and I'm not following. Heavy stuff, right? We broke up many moons ago, but I think a lingering, long-distance friendship with someone you really care about doesn't leave much room for moving on... at least in his case. Yesterday seemed to be extremely final, and when his solos kept randomly coming on my computer... I knew today was going to be rough. Did I mention we used to sing in the same group? Strange, but I find some solace in knowing we'll both likely come back for the annual concert... and that is one bond that really can't be shattered.
LESS SAD PLUG:
Not that many people in the NY area read this anymore, but if you're anywhere near Rochester this weekend, I recommend catching the Midnight Ramblers' 10th anniversary show on Saturday. They're awesome, they have a ton of people going back, and (ahem) those are some good looking boys. Go... then tell me how it is.
Also, the Clefs are having their 30th on April 14th with yummy Brendan James. It's also on the 19th, but I'm sure you'll all be at ICCA finals that night... right?
Any thoughts, btw, on the CARAs? I actually am very "eh" about the best mixed soloist choice, but I know that everyone and their grandmother is obsessed with Donna OTBudica. I have more thoughts, but I think it might be best for me to hit up the DayQuill. Love and chords that lock!
