This morning, I did something radical for me. Instead of obsessively culling my favorite of-the-moment songs for my 1st generation iPod shuffle (what, I'm poor, shut up) I let iTunes auto-fill it for me.
After a hilarious session of "The End" by the Beatles followed by Audra MacDonald's "Baby Moon" and then a whole bunch of oldies (think "Incense and Peppermints") I hit upon something fun: a song I'm pretty sure I hadn't listened to in about five years, but was able within literally 5 seconds to peg it as a Brown Derbies recording. There's just something about those "ber ner"s that's a Derby trademark.
So my question is this: which collegiate groups have a sound so distinct that you can guess it correctly within seconds? I'm pretty limited, and can only claim the Derbies, the Bubs (most of the time), Wisconsin MadHatters (I was kind of in love with one of them for a while) and all of the groups at my alma mater.
What groups are so unique that you'd be able to pick out their recording even if you'd never heard them sing the song?

UPenn Off The Beat. Easily the most instantly recongnizable a cappella group in college. As for the pros, The Bobs #1, and then Moosebutter #2. Nobody else sounds like those groups.
#1 OTB - Almost any stuck up aca geek would agree.
#2 WibiJazz'n
#3 Bubs
I can generally recognize the Xchords b/c of their arrangements, and I'd say the same thing about OTB. I also usually can recognize the Clefs.
As for negative recognition, there is one group from a big aca-school out east that I always recognize for being 'blah'-good. They make it on VO almost every year, and I always cringe at their soprano(s).
